I am conservative, I believe that competition reduces prices and creates innovation. The ONLY thing that the Democrats have done that I agree with is the breakup of AT&T in the 1980’s. Through that breakup, local calling went from 5 cents per minute to nill depending on the package you get. Long distance went from sometimes $1s per minute down to the 5 cent range. No one was forced to be on a “Party Line” where several customers were on the same line, where you had to wait for them to hang up before you could make a call, and they could listen in on it. Why? Competition would give you a better deal.
The thing that I CANNOT STAND about the Republican Party is their allowing big corporations to buy up their competition. Big Oil is one of those. When you hear they only make a couple of cents per gallon profit, don’t be fooled by that. That may be true on the FINISHED PRODUCT, but it is not a true OVERALL picture. Big Oil OWNS the mineral rights throughout the ENTIRE United States, and I can assume that is true in many countries. That is the reason they developed the horizontal drilling technique. Say a rancher did not want them to drill on their land, the company would go to the next property owner, give them some royalty stipend, horizontally drill under the first property owners land, take the oil and the rancher would receive nothing.
They get the oil for next to nothing. The “Sell” it to themselves through holding companies they own, ship it in trucks they own, in ships they own, and send it to refineries they own. Each part of the way, it is “sold” to differing holding companies, where profits are extracted, and which are NEVER used by those defending them.
Next they go to the government to control pricing. Basically State and Federal government has colluded with the Major Oil Companies in PRICE FIXING. That is why when you drive through a city all the gas stations are within a cent of each other for a gallon of gas. The argument from both the government and the oil companies is “to maintain a stable supply”, again collusion. … See More

Would it be the consumer with lowered prices, or the Corporations with lowered profit, and Congress with lowered re-election funds?

Monopolies Do Not Promote Competition!

We all know that Government is the largest monopoly in our lives!  At the point of a gun they demand payment from their citizenry.  I am writing this to let you know that I am NOT pro-government, in fact I agree with Thomas Paine in that Government is a necessary EVIL.

I am a conservative, and as such I believe in competition to drive down costs and encourage development of new technologies. When Government broke up AT&T, prices for telephone services went down from 30 cents per minute long distance, to just cents per minute, cause AT&T to develop new products, till today they are offering TV over their lines.
I believe the Republicans have done the US a disservice by allowing the major oil companies to buy up the independents. These oil conglomerates OWN oil fields in many parts of the world and pumping crude out of the ground there costs them little to nothing. They also own the shipping companies as well as the refineries. They use Saudi led prices to gouge the American people.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if we found out that Saudi Arabia and our own Oil Conglomerates are actually funding liberals and enviro-wacko’s to OPPOSE DRILLING HERE IN THE STATES? I would like to see some investigative reporting in this area.
Recently, a small company developed technology to expel natural gas from shale rock. Natural gas has been a product that environmentalists have been pushing as a lower greenhouse causing hydrocarbon. They were pushing power plants to go to that technology, that is, until now. Now that we have the ability to extract it at very little cost! Now they are opposed to it. Why the sudden change in their attitude? Could it be their benefactors will LOOSE trillions of dollars if this technology goes online?
Why is it that republicans chose to allow monopolies? Why is it that State governments have laws against gas stations lowering their gasoline prices more than 5 cents below other stations in their area? Isn’t that collusion between the few oil giants and the government? Isn’t that price fixing? YES, it is.
I am not going to talk about democrats here because we know they are socialists and statists. I am angry with the republican party, they have left their conservative roots and are just as corrupt and guilty as the democrat party. They have promised and never deliver, they sent spending through the roof when they had the majority. They have kept pay low to the American people by sending good jobs over seas. Yes there is help for those who start small businesses, however, most small businesses fail within 3 years. Perhaps this is the reason they have allowed the monopolies, because that is where the profits are located (wonder why?) which fund their campaigns.
What it ultimately does is hurts the majority of us because we have to pay more and more of our money to the corporations, making republicans corporatists.
Notice something strangely left out of both parties? THE PEOPLE.
Our government is suppose to be “of, by and for the people.” But with the two parties that control our lives (many of their members under investigation or out right criminals) they are either power mad socialists who believe in statism (fascism) or they are corporatists who make laws to empower corporations to control every aspect of our lives. No one is there for the people.
We need to take back our government from those who have forgotten who sent them there! I believe the best hope is to support your local TEA party movement.
