Choose Freedom Not Slavery

“It is impossible to enslave, mentally or socially, a bible-reading people. The principles of the bible are the groundwork of human freedom.”
Horace Greeley

Why are liberals so bent on social programs? Why do they give their rights up for security? Why do they take NO personal responsibility for their lives? Why do they want to give the government control over their whole lives? There is a reason.

They do not appreciate freedom because they do not appreciate God and the Bible.

Paul states in Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. It is interesting that those who detest God are buying themselves into slavery. They actually want to be slaves. It is the god of this world that is “enlightening” them into believing a lie, that is, giving up their God given rights to become serfs of the government. Do they not see that they will be required to do something for the “free” programs they are trying to heap upon themselves? No, they do not, for the god of this world has BLINDED them with his “enlightenment”.

We Christians know where true freedom lies, it is found in between the covers of the Bible. The reason that the left HATES the Bible is because they do not know what it is really all about. They quote mine to find the “Bad” stuff in the Bible, not go to it to find the truth that God has placed there for them to know how to live a wonderful way of life.

They know that it condemns homosexuality, or against sex with animals, or against casual sex. They hate it because it does condemn these things, but they do not know why it condemns them. They are enslaving sins. They are sins against others. Their minds are DARKENED by the god of this world. He does not want them to read the rest of the Bible so, because they are enslaved to these sexual sins and it condemns their enslaving sin, they hate a book that they have never studied.

Why is this? Because it BRINGS TO LIGHT the dark acts that they do. Hebrews 4:6 states:

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

They hate the Bible because it knows their hearts. They are lifted up in pride. Yet all of this causes them to be enslaved. For they give all of their rights to the government of men.

Those who know God and the Bible know what true freedom really is. They know that only God can save them. They know that a man cannot save them. That Jesus was the messiah, not a man who cannot control his own passion. When Jesus talked, He stated that His Father was to be glorified for anything that Jesus did. Government messiahs are lifted up in pride to take credit for everything that (seems to) go right, but blames others for anything that goes wrong.

These people who are seeking to be enslaved by the government remind me of the slaves in the South, who took up arms against those who were coming to set them free. They had endured the safety and security of their slave-masters for so long that they did not even know they were enslaved, had no rights, but those that the slave-masters gave them. They thought they were fighting against slavery from those who were actually bringing them freedom.

It is interesting that a Newspaper man understood the truth about those who know the Bible, that it impossible to enslave them. Yet it is now the Mainstream media that are also liberal and lie about those who know God. They call them evil for telling of the sin of homosexuality, or of the spilling of the innocents blood through abortion. They call good evil and evil good. God says to beware them.

Proverbs 3:5-6 states:

5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Lean NOT unto thine own understanding. That is exactly what those who say they are intellectual and enlightened do today. They do not know who they are following, the god of this world, whom the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:14:

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

My prayer for you who think that you will be able to withstand the Judgment of God is this, that you stop trusting in yourselves who WILL die, not matter how much health care you receive, you life here is finite, but your soul is everlasting. I also pray that you realize this life is fleeting, and that if you live it for your own selfish licentiousness, you will pay, and that price is far worse than your “pleasure” for a season here.

Don’t be guilty of making an Idol god who is all loving and will wink at your sin, for the Bible says that God is a consuming fire. It will be indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living HOLY God of the bible. You must REPENT of your selfish, God denying way. Repent means to turn away from your sin and not return to it, like a dog returns to it’s vomit. To turn away from sin is to turn towards God.

What is interesting is you KNOW you are doing evil, God has given you a conscience that tells you that you are, but you choose to ignore it. The ten commandments condemn you as being less than holy. You cannot get away from it. The requirement of that sin is an eternal condemnation away from God. But HE made a way, Jesus who knew no sin died willingly for you, all you have to do is accept his payment for your sin. Then again, turn away from it, do works worthy of repentance and be baptized for the remission of your sins.

If you would like to do this, and have questions, please submit them and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

Choose life, not slavery.

Neat things in Genesis 15

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

We have just come from the point that Abram had helped out in the Kings wars, and had paid a tithe to the King of Salem, Melchizedek. In Genesis 15 we find the covenant between Abram and God. God had promised Abram a child which is now very many years ago. Abram was old, and Sarah was in her 90’s. We have to remember this is not long after the flood so people were living longer, but even so, 90 years old was getting past her prime!
What follows verse one is very interesting. It is all THEORY (read prophesy) about Abram’s descendants, which Abram addresses with God. He tells God, “Well, I guess I can give all that I have to one of my servants sons, since I don’t have a son to give it too!” (vss 2,3)

God goes on to describe not only the fact that Abram’s son will inherit the land that God gave Abram, “From the River in Egypt (the Nile) to the Great River Euphrates.” But that his children will number like the stars in the heavens that he could count. God also told him that his children will be slaves to a nation for 400 years of hard toil. Then one day God will judge that nation for the cruelty that his children will suffer, and that when they leave that country, it’s people will shower them with “great sustenance”. Gold, bronze, silver, jewels.

Abram has GOT to be thinking, yeah, right! I am about to die of old age and you are telling me about a nation that will be my progeny? “Theory sounds good God, but I don’t see any practical goin’ on!” BUT even so, Abram believed God would do what he was saying he would do. He didn’t know how God would carry out his promise, and it must have been fuzzy to him about all of what God asked him to think about. How did he know, it had not happened yet. But he knew God was faithful to him.

If we turn to Hebrews 11, we get a little better picture of what God was working out.

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country,…..

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength …….., because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

Basically, Hebrews 11 is rehashing this story in Genesis 15.  The main theme here is FAITH!  As Hebrews 1:1 puts it:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

We see then, though Abram did not know how God was going to fulfil his promise, Abram believed that God would indeed do just that.  Because God is faithful in his promises.

It is the same with us.  We tend to doubt God will fulfil his promises when we look at our situation, mainly due to the fact we have our eyes on the things around us, and not on the Maker of the Universe.  When we read his promises to us, it encourages us, when we hear his voice, we know he will faithfully carry out what he tells us he will do.  But then, we look at the chaos in our lives and in our world and the enemy puts those doubts in our mind.  We need Fathers guidance, and his touch continually.  I am reminded of when Peter walked on water towards his King, then, he looked at the situation and felt he could not control it (which he couldn’t) and he began to sink.  Yet that is not the end of the story, he cried out to the Creator, “Help, Lord” and Jesus grabbed Peter’s outstretched arm and brought him safely back to the boat.  That is what he does, because that is who he is.  All we need to do is believe him.
